Haizel's going to be a big sister l Louisa, Va Family Photographer

I am so ecstatic to finally announce Miss Haizel is going to be a big sister!!!

Amber contacted me a few weeks ago with the great news. We picked a date for this session, and I couldn't wait to see these two lovely ladies again. As we always hope for a sunny day for an outside session or wedding, sometimes mother nature doesn't allow that to happen for us. Saturday morning was not sunny and 75, but Amber and Haizel totally rocked this session in the rain. I told her at the end of the session, "thank god we are country girls." :)

We began our session in the town of Louisa. As cars drove past they stared, probably thinking .....they are crazy to be taking pictures in the rain. During this time I got to take in how amazingly happy Amber is. I have known her as a client for almost two years, and I have never seen her smile so much. Girl you are glowing, and you are so radiant. Tell Brandon to keep you happy because I love you this happy, and your smile is contagious!!!
I am completely honored to capture this special time in your life, and I can't wait until y'all's gender reveal :) :)

Flashback Friday.5 l Personal

YAY it's Friday again. I am so super stoked for my weekend sessions. If you are a photographer, you are probably coming out of your slower season, how did you spend your slower season?.....what are you doing to be better this busy season?......

For me I have spent my slower season working on Me and doing things I LOVE, because once wedding season starts, I do not have a lot of free time to do these things. I have focused on my healthier life style, and I plan to keep this during wedding season and prep food for weddings.

This past week I finally fit into size 10 skinny jeans. I have never been a huge fan of skinny jeans, well that was until last year I found a light mint pair that were super cute.
Last weekend I had a session cancel on me, which I then jumped the gun to go hiking. Last time I hiked this particular trail I was 40 lbs heavier, and boy could I tell the difference hiking up the mountain.
I found a ceiling I am totally in LOVE with!!!
This is what I wake up to on the weekends. As during the week I wake up at 530am, so I have to force them to get up during the week. Now the weekends they don't like me to sleep past 7-730. Skeatti will come lay right on me and just STARE, Cha chi will lay on the pillow next to me and purr loudly, now Meatball is very content just being under the covers nice and warm.
Who is so excited for spring???? ME ME ME !!! I check to see if my lilies were growing back from planting last year....and they are. Not just one bud but THREE from each bulb I planted last year....super excited for these to come up and bloom!!
Meet Kacey of Faithful Flowers she is an AMAZING florist, and the only one I suggest to my brides. We had planned for a luncheon to discuss bridal shows and business, but she joined me on the hike instead. We talked business once we got to the top. If you haven't checked out her work please click the link above and show her some love on Facebook!!!

Parker Family l Charlottesville, Va Family Photographer

I have so much to say about this gorgeous, full of smiles family. Where to start.....I met Maria back in my college days when I was waitress-ing/bar-tending at the good 'ol Applebees. (I actually loved bar-tending) I am very thankful to stay in touch with a lot of people I worked with there.

I met up with Maria last year for her maternity session on a cold cold winter morning on UVA campus. Not only did she look like a total rock star then, but how gorgeous and fit does she look now?? I'm totally jealous, and I didn't even have a baby. During the time of her maternity session, Brandon was stationed overseas, so he wasn't able to be a part of bummer, and thank you for all you do for our country!!!

As we planned their family session, and Sophia's one year old session I became soooo excited to see her and the kiddos, and meet Brandon. WOW what a year difference makes for all the kids. They had drove up from North Carolina to meet me in Charlottesville for their session.....I feel so amazingly special that they traveled for me to capture these moments in time. We started with the family part of their session before bringing cake out for Miss Sophia.

I LOVE taking a few moments just for Mom and Dad.
 How cute are they?!?!?
I totally LOVE that Brandon brought his uniform to their session :)
Now it is ALL ABOUT SOPHIA!!!
She couldn't wait to dig into her cake, and I knew this was going to be a fun cake smash :)
 Handful of cake
I love that long gorgeous brown hair!!!
